CTGBC Committees
CTGBC hosts a number of committees and a Southwestern Branch. Members are encouraged to participate in one or more of them; all are welcome.
Advocacy Committee
The Advocacy Committee assists CTGBC members in understanding the legislative process, helps strengthen local governments’ understanding of local green building knowledge and supports the implementation of green building regulations in Connecticut. The Advocacy Committee also works as needed with the USGBC Advocacy Committee to support national initiatives.

Education Committee
Assists with the preparation of individuals to successfully pass the LEED – Green Associate and LEED-AP with specialty exams. The education Committee facilitates the maintenance of the LEED credentials of LEED accredited professionals and provides general educational content on green building and sustainability for the CTGBC membership, and CT residential and commercial building markets.

Emerging Professionals
To serve as a point of entry for emerging professionals into the CTGBC and the green building movement, and to develop resources and networks to support their evolution into dynamic, visionary leaders who are dedicated to the creation of a sustainable future.

Energy Committee

Events Committee
Produce events that cover all green building topics, appealing to a wide cross-section of members and non-members, in all areas of sustainability and high performance buildings. These events include the CTGBC annual Awards Luncheon and Holiday Gathering. The Events Committee also helps support other committee events with resources & logistics.

Finance
The focus of this committee is to take responsibility on how we run the chapter; its finances, programs, scholarships and other costs the CTGBC incurs.

Healthcare
The CTGBC Healthcare Committee develops appreciation, participation and awareness of viable green initiatives for the healthcare industry. Through research, education and development of sustainable business strategies, CTGBC Healthcare revitalizes the healing environment improving the patient's and caregiver's quality of life.

Green Schools
This committee seeks to raise awareness of the value of high performance, energy efficient school design, construction and operation through the development of statewide public and private sector support. In order to promote the transformation of new construction and existing schools in CT, the committee will identify opportunities, challenges and environmental, health and economic benefits associated with this process. All the while placing its emphasis on the educational workshop opportunities that result by the above actions for the students and residents of CT. CTGBC High Performance Schools

Green Building for Homes
The mission of our committee is to encourage the adoption in Connecticut of green building practices for both new construction and existing homes. Marketing/Communications
The goal of the Marketing/Communications committee is to increase the visibility and strengthen the presence of the CTGBC in the state. We aim to achieve this goal by creating both member and outreach related communications utilizing: newsletters, targeted email, tradeshows, events, social media, and the web.

Southwest Branch
A diverse, energetic group of professionals who are interested in sustainability and environmental issues. We strive to unite industry professionals to transform the way buildings and communities are designed, built and operated throughout Southwestern Connecticut and beyond, providing a responsible, healthy and efficient environment that improves quality of life. We promote and support this mission through education, community outreach and advocacy.
